I have been a working artist for all of my adult life and have been selling paintings on Ebay and this web site for over a year. My background is in decorative product design and textiles. After graduating from Syracuse University School of Art and getting my Masters of Fine Arts Degree from New York University, I started my 25+ year career in the fashion and home textiles industry.

Five years ago I began painting fine art canvases in acrylics. I applied my experience in home fashion, and my love of nature, and found that I could create beautiful art work for the home. I worked mainly through interior decorators and home stagers until recently when I started selling my work online to the public.

My focus is on PLANET EARTH and the glories of nature. I'm a pet lover and an avid gardener. I love to paint animals and botanical subjects. The shapes of leaves and flowers are forever interesting and fun to interpret. The colors can be anything in the spectrum to create a mood.

My style is Expressionist/Impressionist. I like to see the paint do it's thing. Bold brush strokes and colors mixing right on the canvas characterize my work. I like exaggerated size and unusual cropping, frequently creating negative shapes and empty spaces that can be filled with color and imagination.

I live and work in my suburban home in Greensboro, North Carolina. I have two gorgeous Flat Coated Retrievers, Traveler and Oona who play out in the yard in the morning and keep me company in the studio in the afternoon. They are my personal trainers and take me for walks twice a day and insist that I play ball with them in the early evening. I also have two mixed breed cats, Fred and Ethel, who tolerate the dogs and make my home a warm and loving place. If you visit My Daily Blog, you can read lots more about me, my art and the critters!

Prior to shipment, I personally ensure that all my paintings are properly packed in bubble wrap and heavy cardboard. Paintings larger than 36 inches are shipped off the stretchers in heavy mailing tubes.
